Long Wavy Hairstyle 2012

Long Wavy Hairstyles 2012Let the amazing power of soft, flirty waves help you transform your look instantly. Whether you're looking for something casual or something formal, these loose long wavy hairstyles will definitely capture your interest.

Its good to keep long wavy Hairstyle as it enhances your beauty and keep you comfortable. Its quite common in South Asian as they keep there hairs long specially in Indian woman's there is an old tradition of keeping hairs long, even it is seen that they manage long hairs even they sometimes grow there hair's below the waist.

Long Wavy Hairstyle looks like some curls or some messy curls spreading all around the head. And so they cover they cover the whole part of head so nicely that it gives a mesmerizing look to a woman's beauty.

When it comes to hair styling, a little texture change can make everything different. And, if sleek straight hairstyles can appear somewhat boring and curly hairstyles can be a little too much for some face shapes, wavy hairstyles are somewhat of a happy medium that proves flattering for most women. With a multitude of styles worth experimenting with depending on the features you want to emphasize and a few other important variables. Keeping things subtle and polished is usually a fail proof strategy worth adopting when you're in doubts about some concepts.

One of the least effort intensive options worth experimenting with is to focus on creating soft waves for front strands only. This way you'll benefit from the face-softening effect of waves without all the struggle to keep things perfectly even all around. Pulling the hair on one side only can be another fun variation worth experimenting with if you're looking for a touch of edginess.

On the other hand, few things can rival with a volume filled, textured mane that practically reminds us of those corny shampoo commercials with unmatched volume and an almost surreal strong sheen. Getting such hairstyle does require some pretty serious time commitment along with some pretty well set styling skills but the results tend to be extremely impressive. As long as your face shape allows it, playing with volume and creating some flirty waves can be the surest way to impress.

If you've decided to experiment with bangs, the option of experimenting with a few waves can be all the more appealing since the instant contrasts between textures will work in your favor, allowing you to draw more interest to your face. Whether you've settled for blunt, face framing bangs or went for the more subtle wispy side bangs, the effects can be extremely appealing.

That's all about long wavy hairstyle hope you all have learned a lot from this little article. Waiting for suggestion and comments of you all who read my article.

2. Leave a bunch of hair on one side and scoop the rest to braid.

3. Grab the top section of the hair to be braided and divide into three strands. Start intertwining these strands like a normal braid. Keep the braid loose.

4. Once done, pull out a small strand from the plait and wrap it around the end of the braid to fasten it. Secure this strand with invisible pins. Now, further loosen out the braid to get the unkempt look.

5. Scrunch up the hair on your right. Divide it in strands and twirl them around your fingers to enhance the messy curly look.

Healthy Hair Secrets

Great Hair Starts With a Good Cut

Side_24A professional haircut will ensure that your hair is free from damaged and spit ends and will make your hair look healthy. Seeing a professional will also give you the opportunity to get the right cut for your hair type and texture. Follow up visits which include regular trims will also guarantee that your hair will look and feel its best.

Healthy Hair is Hydrated Hair

Drink plenty of water. Water not only hydrates your skin and body, it also hydrates your hair.

Hair Product Overload

Don't use too many products. Product overload will weigh your hair down and make it look tired and greasy. Remember this rule: One product to style and one product to finish with.

Heat can be a Hazard for Your Hair

If you use a heat styler such as a hair-dryer, straightener or curling iron, then make sure to apply a heat protection product first. Heated stylers can zap your hair of moisture and leave your strands frizzy and hard to manage.

Sleep is Good for Your Hair

When you are sleeping your body is working its hardest to repair damage, including any hair damage, so plenty of sleep is a must. To further help your hair achieve its healthy best, try sleeping on a satin pillowcase. This will stop your hair from rubbing as you sleep and will control fly-aways.

Keep Your Hair Moisturized

Try an intensive conditioner once a week to keep your locks moisturized and to keep your hair soft. To get the best from your deep treatment, apply it to your hair then cover with plastic wrap or a plastic shower cap and leave for ten minutes before rinsing out. This will add heat and allow the treatment to penetrate. For a deeper condition, wrap a warm towel over the plastic wrap.

Hair Product Placement

Choose the right products for your hair. If you've styled with the right products for your hair type and washed with the right shampoo then your hair should be naturally shiny and manageable. If it's not, see your stylist and get an expert opinion on what will work best for your hair.

Your Hair Needs Good Food Too

Eating a well-balanced diet which is full of healthy proteins and lots of vitamins will keep your hair glowing. Not to mention your skin and your waistline!

Celebrity Hair Stylist's Best Product: It's Not What You Think

Felicia Leatherwood is a celebrity hair stylist who began her career with one very demanding client -- herself! She began by styling her own hair at the age of 8.
"My mom did not know how to do my hair," Felicia says. "I asked, 'Is it OK if I do my own hair?' And before I could finish the sentence she handed me the comb and the brush."

Before long Felicia was tending to the locks of many of her neighborhood friends, making pocket money doing what she loved most.

Today, Felicia Leatherwood's hairstyling business has grown to include a long list of celebrity clients, including singer Jill Scott and actor Anthony Anderson. Her specialty? Creating natural hairstyles and helping African-American men and women love their natural hair, sans chemicals and over-processing. It's a passion that has earned her the reputation as 'the hair whisperer.'

Felicia Leatherwood, hair stylist shares her secrets.

I sat down with Felicia in her cozy at-home hair salon to discuss the secrets to her success. I soon discovered that her thriving business was no accident, her eyes lighting up as she discussed what she calls "Intention".

"If you have an intention to grow a business, if you have an intention to be in a successful place with yourself, you don't need to worry about how it's going happen, you just have to know it's going happen, be prepared for when it does happen and be willing to do the work when it shows up."

Her Zen-like approach to success extends to the often prickly subject that stumps many women -- dealing with competition.

"You don't want to look at competition, you want to focus in on what you can provide to your consumers, what you need to improve your business."

Felicia also shares the advice she received from a wealthy female client. "Always have a product that can sustain your life, so that when you retire, it will always sell." But the best product, the woman said, is the one clients can only come to you to getz; "your personality."

While Felicia may have started styling hair earlier than most, I was surprised to discover that like so many of us, it took a great deal of time and courage to finally quit her "day job"-- a corporate position that brought her little joy -- and focus on hair full time. Once she realized that she was making as much money doing what she loved as what she dreaded, and that she could afford to support herself by following her dream- she never looked back.

That dream has been to empower women by not only teaching them how to love their hair, but showing them how to love themselves. And she attributes much of her professional success to her personalized, heart filled approach to clients who leave her salon feeling beautiful inside and out.

Felicia is a firm believer in the law of "reciprocity," meaning that the more you give to others, the more others want to give back. To that point, she doesn't just style celebrity clients, she also hosts seminars and webinars, often giving away her expertise for free. She knows that giving free information builds loyalty and trust and often creates paying customers in the future. And like many of the most inspiring achievers, success is not measured in dollars and cents alone.

Felicia Leatherwood

"When you hear you've changed someone's life through a workshop? That's amazing," she says. "That's all I came here to do, be a positive influence on other people. So that right there is success enough for me."

hair loss and hair care

Tips to prevent Hair loss and Hair care

Hair is an essential factor when it comes to defining good looks. It is a reflection of your internal health. Most of the times, hair loss or changes in the texture of the hair could be indicative of some underlying pathology such as hypothyroidism, anemia, cancer, diabetes, and nutritional deficiencies. Hair fall, greying of hair, dandruff, and a receding hairline, are some common hair care concerns. This section gives you tips on hair care to complete your definition of beauty.

Hair care tips:-

  • Avoid shampooing your hair daily. Washing your hair everyday deprives it of essential oils and dries your scalp and hair.
  • If you like the glossy look, add a few drops of shine serum to water and spray it on to your hair.
  • If you have oily hair squirt water at the roots. This does wonders for your hair.
  • Try not to use hair dyes, hairdryers, and curling irons as these can aggravate the problem of hair loss, resulting in baldness
  • Include foods rich in calcium in your diet; calcium is necessary for strengthening the hair follicles and roots in your scalp.

Causes of frizzy hair

Hair plays a vital role in the overall aesthetic appeal of an individual. Frizzy hair hence becomes a cause of concern for most of us. They are not only delicate but also difficult to tackle. The best way to get rid of frizzy hair is to understand what causes it. According to hair care experts, some people are born with natural frizzy hair. Thus, you may inherit this trait from your parents. People with God-gifted curls may have frizzier hair as compared to those with straight hair.
Apart from your genetic makeup, the environment may also be responsible for the crimpy look of your hair. Too much exposure to the sun can lead to dry, damaged hair. Ultraviolet (UV) rays can damage your hair cuticles. Harsh sunrays tend to dry up the natural moisture. Dehydration of the scalp tightens the pores; and as a result, your hair begins to spiral up. This makes your hair look dull and frizzy. In addition, humidity and wind may further worsen this problem.
Another important reason for dry frizzy hair is too much of brushing or combing. Excessive brushing causes split-ends and increases the tendency to spring outward uncontrollably. The use of harsh chemicals, treatments, and procedures can also damage your hair. Excessive use of blow dryers, curling devices, and straightening irons can cause frizzing of hair. These appliances take away the natural moisture from the hair.Overuse of styling products, dyes, bleaches, and coloring agents can also tighten your hair pores. The high alcohol content in these products subjects your hair to harmful chemical reactions. Moreover, not oiling your hair regularly can weaken them from the roots, giving a frizzy look. Few dermatologists also believe that, improper diet can lead to dull, wiry locks. Low levels of hair protein can kink up the hair. Lack of essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin E can keep your hair lifeless and dull, making them prone to frizziness.

Taking care of your oily hair

Every morning, after a good hair wash, your hair looks very nice and clean; but as evening sets in, it starts looking greasy, lame, and lank. This is because you are suffering from a common hair problem that many people suffer from, the ‘oily hair’ problem. Most people think that oily hair is the result of an oily scalp, but that is not true. In fact, a dry scalp causes the sebaceous glands to produce more oil, which later gets transferred to the hair strands. Straight hair moves the oil quickly away from the scalp, whereas kinked hair moves the sebum very slowly away from the scalp.
Therefore, first and foremost, dryness of the scalp has to be treated to overcome the problem of oily hair. The excess sebum produced by the dry scalp has also got to be controlled. Hair should be washed on a regular basis using a good shampoo, but without hair conditioners. Sebum itself is a conditioner and any more conditioning will make the hair more oily and sticky. While washing your hair, you must bear in mind that shampoos are not only meant for the hair. They are also specifically designed to clean the scalp.
Women must thoroughly apply the shampoo on their scalp and massage it vigorously with their fingers. Even the choice of the shampoo makes a big difference. Hence, shampoos that have been formulated for oily skin should be used as they have strong detergents to remove the extra grease. If needed, one must apply the shampoo more than once, in order to get rid of all the excess oil from the scalp and hair. No foaming is observed when the shampoo is in the process of removing large amounts of sebum. Once foaming starts, you can stop the shampooing.
Always rinse your hair thoroughly with cool or lukewarm water, because soap residue can increase the oiliness of your hair. It is better to avoid conditioners, gels, and hair care products as these may aggravate the problem. A vinegar rinse may be useful in combating extremely oily hair. Diluted lemon juice too can help you to have oil-free hair and a pleasant-smelling scalp. Although diet is not directly connected to this problem, eating nutritious meals and drinking plenty of water will definitely promote the good health of your scalp, hair, and skin.
